iPodia
In 2014, I had the privilege of participating in a Global Innovation course that taught us why innovation is important, how to identify it, and when/where to innovate. Every session was a video conference between classrooms in India, Israel, and USC. In teams mixed across the universities, we were tasked with a project to conceptualize a new, global product, and traveled to Israel for two weeks in late May to apply our learning and meet our classmates!
Supported by the USC Viterbi School of Engineering iPodia is an expanding partnership between six universities around the world: USC, Peking University, National Taiwan University, Korean Institute of Science and Technology, Israel Institute of Technology, and RWTH University of Aachen. The mission is to use the Internet to support active learning approaches, such as interactive discussion, collaborative teamwork, learning-by-teaching, etc., among local and remote learners to create a true "classrooms-without-borders" paradigm around the world.
